The Henderson County Prosecutors office received a $10,000 grant from the Kentucky Bar Association.
The money will go towards their Victim-Offender conferencing program, which began last year.
County Prosecutor Steve Gold says this grant couldn't come at a better time as they were about to run out of their federal funding.
The program is one of only a few in the state that gets a victim and offender in a safe setting- to sit down and address the harm that was done.
Gold says its worked very well.
"It's a really amazing process. Initially I was skeptical but its something that has led to a lot of peace being made and a lot of understanding and a lot of the conferences end in tears and hugs," says Gold.
The Henderson County prosecutors office was the only one in western Kentucky to get the grant.
