South Green River back open after motorcycle accident

Police have left the scene of the accident on Green River near the Lloyd and all lanes are back open.

Evansville police responded to a motorcycle vs. car accident at Green River Road and the Lloyd Expressway.

Police say a white Escalade in the left turn lane on south Green River changed their mind and went to turn right onto west bound Lloyd.

They tell us the Escalade hit the motorcycle, which had the right of way, going straight on Green River.

The south bound lane on Green River Rd was stopped at the Lloyd Expressway causing major delays.

Police tell us a reconstructionist was called to the scene.

Police tell us both the man and the woman on the motorcycle were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. No word yet on whether they were wearing helmets.

The driver of the car is not injured.

Right now police aren't releasing the name of the driver or the names of the two people on the motorcycle.

The investigation is still ongoing.
