White Co. voters will see school tax on Nov. ballot

Posted: Updated:
WHITE CO., IL (WFIE) -

In November, White County, Illinois voters will see a school facility tax on the ballot.

It's a one percent sales tax that - if approved - could generate more than a million dollars for county schools. That money could be used for building maintenance, facility improvements or bond debt.

School officials say the tax would help them fix problems with aging buildings. If the tax goes through, the districts wouldn't get the money until the following year.
