A south Toledo cat shelter needs your help after a dangerous virus infected many of their cats. Paws and Whiskers cat shelter is located at the corner of Hill and Reynolds.
According to the shelter's Facebook page, a cat brought in recently was infected with feline distemper, a potentially deadly virus. The shelter is closed until at least Monday June 23 as workers and volunteers clean every inch of the building.
"It causes diarrhea, vomiting, severe dehydration, stomach
ulcers and is normally very deadly," said Kennel Supervisor Kim Ferguson.
Shelter workers say it does not appear that any of the 83
cats at the shelter have been infected. Still, 24 cats that were in the same
