The Daviess County Fiscal Court is moving forwards with plans for a permanent stage at Yellow Creek Park. The county is paying Architect John Clark $7,500 to come up with a concept design for a covered stage. Judge Executive Al Mattingly says the 50 foot by 70 foot wide stage could be used for music festivals, weddings, or class reunions. The architect plans to take feedback from the public and music organizations and create a final design. "It's just another effort to make Yellow Creek Park more usable for the community and more exciting and more enticing for people outside the community," said Mattingly. The Daviess County Parks Department will be showing off a rendering of the stage and collecting feedback at the ROMP music festival.
