MASON, OH (FOX19) -

Firefighters were dispatched Saturday morning to Kings Island's indoor roller coaster Flight of Fear after an electrical panel started smoking.

Thick smoke was reported at about 10:35 a.m. coming from a panel outside the building, Kings Island spokesman Don Helbig said. Twitter users posted photos of the smoke billowing over the Flight of Fear building.

Helbig said crews responded quickly and the damage was limited to the electrical panel. The ride remains operational.

No flames or injuries were reported.

A similar situation happened earlier this month after the same ride experienced an electrical malfunction and started smoking. The building was evacuated and two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Flight of Fear is located in the Coney Mall section of the park near the Racer wooden roller coaster. Originally called "The Outer Limits," the ride opened in 1996 and has won multiple awards from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
