Tri-County Recycling has received over $31,000 from the state for its household hazardous waste recycling program.
The grant is part of a 3-million dollar project, split up among several organizations in the state.
The money comes from the Kentucky Pride fund.
Officials at Tri-County say it's important to get the word out about properly disposing hazardous waste.
"We had acids that were brought, mercury, things that you don't want in your ditches or where your water source comes from. It's very important to dispose of it properly and we have a great vendor that comes to dispose of these things," said Blanche Jackson, who works at Tri-County.
Tri County recycling serves Henderson, Union and Webster counties.
