A mother has been charged after Florence Police found her son unattended in an SUV with the windows rolled up.
A person called police on Thursday after witnessing the four-year-old boy in the SUV in a Mall Road parking lot. The SUV had all the windows up and the boy was asleep in the back seat, according to police.
Responding authorities checked out the boy and determined he was ok. They said he had been alone in the SUV for about half an hour.
Authorities located the mother, 40-year-old Dawn Barbe of Elsmere, who was shopping in a nearby store and had not realized the child was still in the vehicle, according to Florence Police.
Barbe has been charged with Wanton Endangerment. She was released on a $2,400 bond Thursday.
