Gibson County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam calls

GIBSON COUNTY, IN (WFIE) – The Gibson County Sheriff's Office is warning people about a scam involving fake law enforcement.

According to the Gibson County Sheriff's Office, the unknown caller tells people to pay an amount of money to a local law enforcement agency, or go to jail.

The caller then tells the person to go to a local pharmacy and buy a green dot card. Once that person buys the card, they receive a second phone calls asking them to read the numbers off the back of the card.

The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says this is a scam. They advise people to hang up.
