Convention Center gearing up for July 4th

The Owensboro Convention Center is gearing up for the Fourth of July. The Convention Center is reserving tables and seats on its lower terrace for the fireworks display. Seating on the terrace is $5 per person without dinner. You may also book a VIP reservation on the third level balcony where dinner will be served. Convention Center officials say it's a good way to celebrate without having to deal with the crowds and finding parking.

"I think some of the great parts about this is part of this going to be inside. Regardless of what the weather is happening that day you can come in, hangout inside in the air conditioning, or go out on the back terrace and hangout there as well," said Madison Strobel, Owensboro Convention Center ‎Marketing & Public Relations Manager.

To book a reservation you can:

- Call the Owensboro Convention Center at (270) 687-8800.

- Make a reservation at the Owensboro Convention Center 501 W 2nd St, Owensboro, KY 42301.

-Or make a reservation online at http://owensborocenter.ticketleap.com/indepbankfourthfest/

For more information on the event you can go to the Owensboro Convention Centers website.

After 147 years, a historic Henderson church is coming down, piece by piece. Now, there's a lot of treasures left inside that are going to be up for sale. "There's holes in the roof and the whole building has become dilapidated," says Drew Knight, Ole Bigwood, LLC, "and the structure is no longer sound."   The church was built in 1870 and closed in 2010, when it was the Trinity A.M.E.
