HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - In New York, the stage is set for the Belmont Stakes. It's the third leg in horse racing's triple crown.
Ellis Park officials in Henderson say they're expecting 10 percent more people this year than last year because of the chances of "California Chrome" winning a triple crown.
"It'd be a pretty fun time tomorrow, a lot of activity, a lot of people, so we normally average between 16 and 1,650 on Belmont Day and with the hype with California Chrome, we could potentially have 1,800 to 2,000 people," says Bob Jackson with Ellis Park.
Doors open tomorrow morning at 9:30.
The Bellmont stakes race is at 5:32 p.m. central time.
