LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Storms in the Midwest are moving in our direction. Northern parts of the WAVE 3 News viewing area could see a few thunderstorms during the morning hours on Wednesday.
We expect these storms to be in a weakening phase. However, the boundary they set up will re-fire Wednesday afternoon and evening, providing the lift for storms to initiate. With all ingredients in place this will have the potential to be a severe weather maker that will have the potential to include large hail, isolated tornadoes and straight-line winds that could easily exceed 70mph. It looks to be an active day and night for our area.
We will calm things down for Thursday with highs likely staying in the 70s for many, even with sunshine!
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low: 73
Wednesday: Morning storms possible, mainly north. Some afternoon sun the late day storm, possibly severe. High: 88
Wednesday night: Storms ending. Low: 60
Thursday: Becoming sunny, less humid. High: 80
