LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Children at a local Catholic school spent their final weeks in class doing more than homework.
Students at Holy Family School donated more than 2,300 canned goods to the Schuhmann Center – triple the amount from previous years.
Volunteer Shirley Peak says that generosity is a year-round act. "At Christmas time, we give toys and hats and gloves, and Easter baskets at Easter time," she said.
The school began charity work with St. Vincent de Paul 27 years ago.
