LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The last bell signaling the end of the school day also marked the last day for Holy Family Elementary School.
The catholic grade school located on Poplar Level Road near the Louisville Zoo has been open since the 1920s, but is being closed because of money problems and low enrollment.
The Archdiocese of Louisville said 129 children go to Holy Family and the school would be operating at a $200,000 loss by the end of the school year.
The Archdiocese said the parish that Holy Family is clustered with, St. Stephen Martyr, has room for all of the Holy Family students at its school.
