(RNN) - Jack Hyer was pretty sure he was going to marry his girlfriend after one date.

He took the next four years planning a worldwide proposal.

Traveling to 26 countries, Hyer filmed himself lip syncing to I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers.

True to the song, Hyer walked 500 miles and more, proclaiming his love in a six-minute video shot from the beaches of Tanzania to Big Ben in London.

He even hung out with a camel in Israel.

"It went so well that I wrote in my travel journal … I'm going to marry this girl eventually," Hyer said of their first date.

Hyer recently showed her the video, disguised as a graduation slideshow, before popping the question.

"I've seen the world, I've been on many adventures. I've traveled on elephant, camel back. Hiked to the lowest point in the earth and I got to see some of the highest " he said during his proposal. "But the best adventure I've had is loving Becca."

Spoiler alert – she said yes.
