Head on collision shuts down Daviess Co., KY highway

DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) - An injury accident shut down a Daviess County, KY highway Thursday morning.

According to Daviess County Sheriff's Deputies, the accident happened on U.S. 231 near the Deer Valley subdivision.

Deputies say a tow truck heading north on 231, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with a pick up.

The driver of the tow truck, Tracy Dickens of Hartford, Kentucky, told officials he believes he blacked out just prior to the accident.

The driver of the pickup has been identified as Michael Schroader of Fordsville, Kentucky.

Kenergy crews were on scene to restore power in the area because one of the trucks hit a power pole.
