Members of the teen leadership team for the Hopkins County substance abuse policy gathered at Central High School on Friday.
They were there to talk about problems teens face everyday with drugs and to talk openly about things they see at school and in the community. Specifically, prescription drug abuse.
"We don't know the basics of it. We just know what we've seen or heard. And people in the community they've lived many many years before us. So they've witnessed it all. We needed an outside source. We needed important people who could help us reach out to the program," said Vonshae Matchem, 10th grade.
Madisonville Mayor David Jackson and Hopkins County Jailor Joe Blue were among the many community leaders who attended.
