Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell will be in northern Kentucky on Friday, days leading up to the May 20 primary elections.
McConnell's first stop will be at substance abuse treatment center Transitions, Inc, where he'll speak privately with staff members.
The visit come on the heels of McConnell's recent testimony to the Senate Drug Caucus where he addressed the area's heroin abuse problems, saying that northern Kentucky is the epicenter for the nation's heroin addiction.
The Senator will go on to meet with the Covington Business Council for a general question and answer session about political issues.
McConnell, who is seeking a sixth term, faces Louisville businessman Matt Bevin in the primary.
