NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - The New Albany/Floyd County Animal Shelter acted fast, using a viral video to offer to advertise adoptions for "feline bodyguards."
In the ad the shelter said, "Electronic alarm systems cost hundreds of dollars, and may not protect you when you are outside! While dogs may warn you, they may not protect either! We now have cats that may protect your home just as well or, they may just go greet the intruder - but you never know!"
The shelter is offering adoptions rates of $20 for cats who weigh more than four pounds and $60 for cats under four pounds.
According to the shelter, all of the cats available for adoption are spayed or neutered, Felv/FIV tested negative, microchipped and current on vaccinations.
