Butler County, MO
Roadwork continues on Route 67 from CR 323 to Route 160/158 signed as Route C. Traffic on the existing Route 67 north and south of Harviell will not have an outlet to the new pavement during this time. East and westbound traffic will be restricted. Existing lanes of Route 67 from CR 323 to Route 160/158 will be signed as Route C. The north end of Route C (existing Route 67) will remain closed for about two months as work is completed at the intersection of Route 67, Route C, and CR 323.
Route HH in Butler County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews prepare the roadway for pipe replacement. This section of road is located between County Road 334 and County Road 202. Weather permitting, work will performed Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.Cape Girardeau County, MO
Route BB in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews perform pavement repairs. This section of road is located from Route B to end of state maintenance. Weather permitting, work will performed Monday, July 21 through Thursday, July 24 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Janet Drive will be closed at the intersection of Janet & Fairlane and Janet & Brookwood in Cape Girardeau. The intersections will be open.On June 23, Middle Street from Broadway to Themis and the intersection of Themis-Middle will be closed as the Broadway storm water relief sewer work continues through this area. Depending on weather and other factors, this work could take approximately three weeks.
Concrete street repairs are set to start on July 14 on Hopper Road near Clippard School in Cape Giradeau. The city says this will be the first of many repairs occurring this year. Work on Hopper is expected to last up to two weeks, weather permitting. Dunklin County, MO
Route 25 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane as the Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. This section of road is located between Kennett City Limits and White Oak. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.Carter County, MO
Roadwork continues on Route 21 from Ripley to Carter County from US 60 to US 160 until Nov. 1.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 to discuss improvements to Route M in Carter County. The meeting will be held at the Carter County Courthouse, located at 105 Main Street in Van Buren, Mo.
Madison County, MO
Route N in Madison County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. This section of road is located from Route C to US 67. Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, July 22 through Thursday, July 24 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
New Madrid County, MORoute H in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 9 foot width restriction as contractor crews perform pavement repairs and overlay. This road is located between County Road 847 and Route 61. Work will begin June 30 and go through July 30 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Perry County, MO
Work continues on north and southbound I-55 in Perry and Ste. Genevieve counties. The road is one lane from Route 51 to Route J/N at Ozora through Nov. 14, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Route 51 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform sound testing on the bridge. This is the bridge is over the Mississippi River into Illinois. Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, July 22 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.Reynolds County, MO
Ripley County, MORoute 21 in Carter and Ripley is down to one lane from US 60 to US 160 through Nov. 1.
Route W in Ripley County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as the Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform routine bridge maintenance. The bridge over Ditch No 3 is located between Route AA and County Road W-2. Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 31 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.St. Francois County, MO
Route W/Columbia St. in Farmington is closed starting May 12 as crews build a new culvert. This section of road is between Westmount and Hyler and will run until Aug. 15.
Hyler Street, Dewey Ave., Boyce Ave., and Short St. will be closed to traffic at times, as crews build sidewalks, entrances, curbs and gutters until July 25.
Scott County, MO
North and southbound I-55 will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction while crews perform bridge pavement repairs. The bridges are located over U.S. 62 and I-57 Interchanges. Weather permitting, crews will be working Friday, July 25 through Friday, Aug. 1 from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
Stoddard County, MO
East and westbound Route 114 will be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction as crews make pavement repairs. This section of road is located between Route AH and Route CC. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, July 9 through Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
East and westbound Route 60 will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction while crews make pavement repairs. This section of road is located between Route AH and County Road 789. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, July 9 through Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.Route Z in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 9 foot width restriction as contractor crews perform pavement overlay. This section of roadway is located from Route 25 to Route 153. Work will take place June 30 through July 30 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Route AF in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 9 foot width restriction as contractor crews perform pavement overlay. This section of roadway is located from County Road 637 to Route 25. Work will take place from June 30 through July 30 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Ste. Genevieve County, MO
According to the Ste. Genenvieve City Hall, micro-sealing will continue on Tuesday, July 22. Market Street and Merchant Street in Ste. Genevieve will be closed to traffic from Fourth Street to Main Street.
Route N in Ste. Genevieve County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. Route 149 eastbound and Route 127 near Murphysboro from 20th Street to 4th Street is restricted until July 31.
Jefferson County, IL
The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert motorists traveling Interstate 57 and Interstate 64 in the Mt. Vernon area of the North I-57/I-64 Interchange Construction Project beginning July 21, 2014.
This will be on I-57 from mile marker 95 to mile marker 97 and on I-64 from mile marker 73 to mile marker 75.
Delays are expected. To avoid these delays, motorists are encouraged to utilize the marked detour routes. Motorist should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution when traveling through this area.Massac County, IL
Saline County, IL
On July 7, “OLD” Illinois HWY 13 West, will be closed between Hankins Road and 1/2 mile west of the Carrier Mills Road. This is for a bridge replacement, just west of Bankston Church Road.
This closure will not effect “New” Illinois 13 West. The road is scheduled to be closed until September 12, 2014.
A second road construction project is the replacement of the roadway from Raleigh Road to the American Coal Mine on Illinois HWY 34 North. The north bound lanes of traffic will be closed starting July 7 until August 17, 2014.
Northbound traffic will be detoured alone New Illinois 13 West to Harco Road. Harco Road has a weight restriction of 20 tons. Vehicles over 20 tons must use other routes.Williamson County, IL
Beginning the week of July 14, a contractor will be removing trees, followed by earthwork, along Herrin Road at the east corporate limits of Herrin and extending easterly to Christmas Tree Road. IDOT says this will be off road operations with construction equipment periodically entering and leaving the work site.
IL 133 near Carterville will be restricted at Division Street until July 31.
Commerce Drive from Division Street to Brentwood Drive is under construction, and is closed for 50 days, according to IDOT. Work begins on July 28, 2014. Parking for establishments east of Brentwood will stay open. Access to the front parking areas on the south side will not be affected. The McDonald's employee parking lot will be accessable via Brentwood from the south.
McCracken County, KY
KY 307/Lake Street in downtown Fulton, Ky. will be closed starting Wednesday, July 23. The closure is to allow structural repairs to a building in the downtown area. There will be no marked detour, however drivers may self-detour via side streets. Trucks should detour via appropriate state routes. The work is expected to take two or three days to finish, weather permitting.
An IDOT contractor will be finishing up work in the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah, Ky. and Metropolis, Ill. Eastbound lane restrictions should end on Thursday, July 17. They say there will be a daytime work zone lane restriction on Thursday, July 17 for the westbound traffic from Kentucky into Illinois. If all goes as planned, the lanes will be open to normal traffic on Friday, July 18. As a reminder the U.S. 45 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Brookport is closed and will remain closed until about July 28.Asphalt resurfacing on McCracken County highways is taking place on KY 339/Clinton Road from Gatewoood Drive to US 45; KY 786/Mayfield-Metropolis Road from KY 1322/Lovelace Road to US 62; KY 1837 from the Ballard County line to KY 1322/Lovelaceville Road.
A traffic crash in recent weeks damaged a utility pole that supports the traffic signal at the intersection of US 45/H.C. Mathis Drive and US 60 Business/Park Avenue in Paducah. This is the intersection next to the Robert Cherry Civic Center.
The contractor will be reworking the traffic signal and replacing the damaged utility pole. This work will require lane restrictions to allow personnel and bucket trucks to positioned at various locations in and around the intersection.
The traffic signal should remain functional during most of this work. However, there may be periods when flaggers will be controlling traffic through the intersection. Caution is required.
The crew expects to be working at this location for a couple of days during daylight hours, weather permitting.Marshall County, KY
Drivers should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. No vehicles over 8 ft. wide will be allowed to cross the bridge during this inspection work. This work zone will be up each weekday from approximately 7 a.m. to about 5 p.m. The inspection work is expected to take about a week to complete.
The work zone lane and width restriction on Eggners Ferry Bridge has been removed. KYTC says all lanes are now open.
