EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A man was shot multiple times in Evansville late Thursday night.

A sergeant with the Evansville Police Department says the 20-year-old victim Keshaen Barnes is stable and is expected to survive.

He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Police say the victim was shot just before 10 p.m. Thursday outside near the intersection of Governor St. and E. Riverside Drive.

Police believe there was an altercation between the suspect and the victim before the shooting.  They do not think this shooting was random.

Police say there were reports of several people taking off after the shooting happened, but right now they say they are looking for one shooter.

According to police, a large crowd gathered after the shooting.  They're hoping someone may come forward with information that will help them solve this crime.
