LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A state of the art computer system designed to make keeping track of inmates easier may have cost Louisville Metro Department of Corrections to lose more than $150,000.
An audit of the city's jail system found that the X-Jail computer software failed to collect a $35 booking fee from 27 percent of the inmates in the five months after it was installed last July.
That error cost LMDC $156,000 and was partially due to jailers not understanding the new system.
The audit recommended more training for LMDC employees.
