Baseball dad charged with assaulting coach

WILLIAMSBURG, KY (WAVE) - A parent was taken into custody after getting into a fight with the baseball coach who took his son out of the game. 

According to the Whitley County Sheriff's Office, William Asher, 43, entered the dugout on May 6 and got into an argument with Whitely County baseball coach Kyle Adams. Asher then pushed Adams from behind and put him in a headlock. Another coach was also hurt in the altercation.

The sheriff's office said several student athletes were in the dugout at the time of the incident.

Asher was booked into the Whitley County Detention Center. He is charged with one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of assault.
