EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The West Side Nut Club hosted its annual Founder's Day banquet Tuesday night and handed out checks worth nearly $193,000 to local non-profits.

It's money raised from the Fall Festival.

Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden received $10,000 toward a work-day put on by the Nut Club.

"We're always thankful for what the Nut Club does for this community and to be chosen for a work day is a lot of work on their part and our part and we're always grateful and always appreciative. The amount of work they get done in a single day is just extraordinary," said Erik Beck, Director of Operations, Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden.
