Margaritas and extra staff to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Los Bravos is one of the many Mexican restaurants in town celebrating Cinco de Mayo with drink and food specials all day Monday.

Cinco de Mayo is the biggest sales day for many Mexican restaurants across America.

In fact, Cinco de Mayo, the day the tiny town of Puebla defeated the invading French, is more celebrated here in the states than in Mexico.

Manager Luis Martinez tells me he usually schedules about 10 workers on a Monday, but because it's Cinco de Mayo, he'll have more than 30.

Martinez also says he's expecting the Coronas and margaritas to go fast. He says the margarita that combines both, the Adios margarita, will go even faster.

On a good weekend day they sell about 150 of the Adios margaritas. Monday, with an Adios margarita being sold for just $4.25, he expects to sell at least 300.

14 News Sunrise reporter Deanna Allbrittin went to Los Bravos to see how they make their margaritas. You can see for yourself by watching the video above.
