Caliente Cinco de Mayo

Unseasonably warm

The Spanish word for warm is caliente, and it will be about 10 degrees warmer than normal today. Byron says the warm and breezy weather will continue with afternoon highs in the low to mid 80's, and with winds up to 25 mph through the afternoon. The nice weather will continue through the middle of the week, but then things will start to change.

Cinco de Mayo celebrations

Cinco de Mayo is annually observed on May 5, the anniversary of a victory in 1862 in the fight for independence from French forces. It is a festival of Mexican pride and heritage in the United States.  Los Bravos in Evansville is one of many restaurants to mark the occasion. Deanna Allbrittin is live with the details.

Bluegrass on the Banks

The city of Owensboro is bringing back Bluegrass On The Banks, showcasing bluegrass music on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month through early October. Emily Busby is live with the story.

New air service at EVV

Evansville Regional Airport officials are expected to announce more flights to a new city today.  We'll let you know the latest on Sunrise.

So enjoy your Monday, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
