Distillery deal closed

According to the Post and Courier newspaper, Terressentia Corp. closed a deal Friday to buy the former 35-acre Charles Medley distillery in Owensboro.

The company will invest $25 million and add 50 jobs to the area's economy with a spin-off firm called TerrePURE.

Back in April, the Daviess County Fiscal Court voted to recommend giving TerrePURE of Kentucky distillers $200,000 in incentives if the firm locates in the county.

The CEO of Terressentia said the company chose the Owensboro site because it is in the heart of the American bourbon industry.
