Illinois woman gives birth along Interstate 39

HUDSON, IL (AP) -

A Minonk woman is recovering after giving birth to a baby girl in a van along Interstate 39 in central Illinois.

Amanda Bradbury and her husband Kyle were headed to a hospital in Bloomington on Wednesday evening but didn't make it on time.

The Pantagraph reports (http://bit.ly/1n67IWI) the 31-year-old had her baby in the front seat of the couple's van while pulled over on the side of the roadway.

Paramedics and firefighters from Hudson and a village police officer also were there.

The baby girl weighed 9 pounds and her parents named her Breleigh. Amanda Bradbury says she wasn't due until Tuesday. There were no complications with the birth.

Amanda Bradbury is an EMT and her husband is a farmer.
