LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man has been charged with attempted murder after shooting another man in the Chickasaw neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of S. 45th Street at 4 p.m. April 29. Louisville Metro Police say Christopher W. Wallace, 56, fired a 12 gauge shotgun at his victim three times, striking him in the back twice.

According to police, the actions of Wallace showed "extreme indifference to the value of human life." Police also said Wallace "engaged in conduct which created substantial danger of death or serious physical injury" because there were 60 children in a daycare that was directly in the line of fire.

In addition to attempted murder, Wallace is charged with wanton endangerment.
