HUNTINGBURG, IN (WFIE) -

Huntingburg Police are asking for information that could help them solve a hit and run case involving a pedestrian.

Police say they were called to the intersection of Geiger and 6th Streets in Huntingburg around 8:45 Monday night.

When they arrived, crews found a 33-year-old man lying in the road with injuries to his leg and hip.

The man told police he was crossing the street when a car, possibly a purple Chevy Cavalier that may not have had its headlights on, ran into him.

According to the Huntingburg Police Department, the car stopped and a woman with blonde hair wearing a black tank top jumped out of the passenger seat.

Police believe the woman ran westbound and disappeared.

Neither she, nor the car involved, has been located.

Huntingburg Police want anyone with information about this incident to call them at (812) 683-4111.  Callers may remain anonymous.
