The North Gibson School Corporation is trying to figure out how to deal with a $900,000 loss due to cuts in tax revenue.
Superintendent Brian Harmon says, although the new number does not surprise him, it is greater than the original estimate.
Harmon says a waiver allows him to spread out his losses so unlike other schools in the state, North Gibson will still be able to pay for its buses.
Adjustments are being made to employee health insurance, but he says these cuts could start to hurt education, "It will be difficult to get your most talented people in these positions and really we want or most talented people teaching our young people."
Harmon says the North Gibson School Corporation will just have to continue to budget is money very carefully.
