LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Boil Water Advisory issued for the Highlands area impacted by a large water main break at the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Eastern Parkway was lifted Friday afternoon.

According to Louisville Water, quality tests confirm the water is safe to drink.

Louisville Water advises customers with automatic ice machines to allow the receptacle to fill twice and discard the ice. In addition, people with a chilled water line on their refrigerator doors should allow it to run approximately one minute before using the water.

The Boil Water Advisory impacted about 8,000 Louisville Water customers.
