EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville man is charged with three counts of child molestation.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says they were called to a home on April 23 to assist Child Protection Services.
A case worker was removing an 11-year-old girl from the home as the result of a 'sensitive incident' between the girl and an adult.
Investigators say the victim told them she met suspect, 18-year-old Phillip Velasquez, at the beginning of April.
The victim told investigators that Velasquez, his father and mother, had moved in with her family.
She said that she and Velasquez shared the same bed for three days, that he asked her several times to have sex, and she was afraid to say no.
Investigators say Velasquez implicated himself in committing sexual acts, including intercourse, on two separate occasions with the victim.
They say Velasquez said he knew she was 11-years-old.
Velasquez is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail
