WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) - The Warrick County Habitat for Humanity ReStore wants you to recycle and donate at their first annual Earth Day celebration.
Warrick County Recycling and Resource Management will be on site during the day taking all recyclables including cardboard, newspaper, aluminum cans, ink cartridges and cell phones.
They'll be having special sales to encourage people to buy recycle, repurpose and reuse second-hand appliances, furniture and building materials to cut down on waste. All entertainment centers, lighting and furniture is 25% off today.
The sales are only for today, but you can continue to bring in items to recycle or donate through the week to get a 20% coupon. You can use that coupon on anything in the store.
The ReStore accepts donations of new and used building supplies and cabinets, home furnishings and working appliances. The money they make reselling those items goes directly to building Habitat for Humanity houses in Warrick County.
Recycling reusable items at the ReStore that people would typically trash keeps 160 tons of waste out of Warrick County landfills every year.
The ReStore is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. They're open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday.
