An eight-year-old boy was flown to the hospital Sunday after an accident involving an ATV and a car in northern Vanderburgh County.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened around 5 p.m. Sunday in the 17000 block of Korff Road.
The sheriff's office says its initial investigation shows a car was heading south on Korff when it hit the ATV as it was either entering or exiting a drive near the crest of a hill.
The driver of the ATV, eight-year-old Lance Hunter, was thrown from the vehicle. The sheriff's office says he suffered multiple facial injuries and was flown to Deaconess Hospital by medical helicopter. Officials say Hunter's injuries are considered non-life threatening.
The passenger on the ATV, 38-year-old Jennifer Burgdolf, was also taken to Deaconess with non-life threatening injuries.
Both the driver and passenger of the car went to Deaconess for abrasions they received from the airbags deploying. They were treated and released.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation. They do not think alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
