LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Concern about a woman and her teenage son led to a SWAT response in a Louisville neighborhood on Sunday.
According to Louisville Metro Police, MetroSafe received a third party call Sunday morning from an out-of-county relative about the woman and her son who were at an address in the 700 block of Gheens Avenue.
When officers were unsuccessful making contact with the parent and teen as well as the man who lives at the home, 3rd Division command requested SWAT to respond to the location should it become necessary to enter the home by force. The LMPD robot responds with SWAT whenever SWAT is dispatched, according to LMPD spokeswoman Officer Carey Klain.
Bobby Walker, 39, exited the home around 12:45 p.m. Walker told police he came out of the home after hearing the robot and said he did not know police had been trying to make contact with him, Klain said. Walker was taken into custody.
Klain said a firearm was located inside the home.
Walker is charged with unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment and violation of an EPO/DVO, although Klain said there was not an existing no contact order involving Walker's girlfriend.
The woman and teenager were checked by medical personnel. They were expected to be fine.
