City officials in Owensboro say the contractor building its skate park will have their part of the project completed in a few weeks.
They say Spohn Ranch Skateparks has spent the last several months installing ramps, concrete bowls, and lights around the skatepark.
The contractor is hoping for good weather to finish pouring the rest of the concrete.
The city will take over the $800,000 project after Spohn Ranch Skateparks is finished.
Crews will do some dress up work around the skate park, put in the final landscaping, and pour concrete sidewalks that lead to the site.
"It's moving along pretty good now. We got through some of the rougher weather conditions of the winter and getting more favorable conditions for construction so they're making some substantial progress at this point," said Kevin Collignon, Assistant City Engineer.
The City of Owensboro says they anticipate having the whole project completed by the end of the summer.
