HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - Mandated plans for redistricting also mean a high price tag.
14News has learned 10 new voting machines and more poll workers will cost Hopkins County close to $70,000.
And that money will come from the Hopkins County fiscal court because redistricting is not federal or state funded.
Officials say all of the more than 32,000 voters will be affected in some way by these new lines.
"Whether they are affected by a different house district or by a different precinct number, it will affect every voter in Hopkins County," says Keenan Ratliff, Chief deputy of the Hopkins County Clerk's office.
Officials at the clerk's office say they were able to save $20,000 by manually changing all 32,500 in Hopkins County.
