LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman visiting an elderly tenant at a
Louisville apartment complex didn't leave empty-handed.
According to a criminal complaint summons, Tina Ann Edwards, 33, and an
unidentified accomplice left with numerous items from the building's
lobby, including lamps, a table and pictures and other items that were
hanging on the walls. Police said the incident happened February 21.
Investigators said the accomplice removed the items, which belong to
Evans Property Management, and loaded them into a vehicle while Edwards
was visiting a woman who lives at the complex.
After Edwards was arrested later on unrelated charges, she admitted to
police that her friend stole the property from the apartment building and
also acknowledged seeing the items in the vehicle when the two of them
left the building on February 21.
The tenant Edwards had visited paid the apartment complex $2,300 for the
stolen property, according to police.
Edwards is charged in this case with theft by unlawful taking.
