WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A woman working as an escort is accused of killing a client who refused to pay her, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say on Jan. 15 Brandon Day called an escort service and arranged to meet Andrea Alvira in the 5300 block of Rivermill Lane.
When Day met with Alvira, he said, he did not have a condom or money and said he needed to go home and get them, according to an affidavit.
The couple was later seen on a surveillance camera walking near a lake.
A security guard says he saw Alvira chasing a man and he called 911.
A resident also called 911 and told investigators that when he left his home, he saw Alvira on top of the man's chest and holding him down. He asked her to get off before she broke his neck and she said she was not letting him go because he robbed and raped her, according to the affidavit.
When deputies arrived they say Alvira was sitting on the grass next to Day, who appeared to be dead. He was transported to the hospital where he died the next day.
Alvira told deputies that Day took her cellphone, gold chain and a purse and ran away. She claims she chased him and then hit him in the head with her boot and that she eventually put her hand and knees into his throat and pressed down to hold him until help arrived.
She told deputies that she let go after she felt his body go limp, according to the affidavit.
However, investigators say no evidence supports Alvira's claim of robbery or rape.
Deputies say their investigation revealed that Day met with Alvira, who may have performed a sex act with him and then chased him when he tried to run away without paying her. They say she caught up with him, struck him on the neck, which caused him to fall and that she eventually suffocated him.
Alvira was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
Thursday morning she appeared in court and was denied bond.
