2nd St. at Market and Jefferson reopened following suspicious device investigation

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Second Street at Market and Jefferson has reopened following the investigation of a suspicious device.

According to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley, around 7:00 a.m. Monday an employee at Minit-Print-It on West Jefferson Street, saw a suspicious device in the rear parking lot near the dumpster. Police were called and the store was evacuated. Officers also shut down 2nd Street between Jefferson and Market. The bomb squad determined the device was an empty container.

By 9:45, the road was reopened and the investigation was finished.
