HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - Happening Saturday in Hopkins County, a 5K Run at Dawson Springs City Park to raise money for a girl who has dealt with a debilitating illness for most of her life.
Alyssa is 18 now, but has dealt with seizures and epilepsy since she was just six months old.
Now an experimental treatment called neuro-feedback has shown promise in Alyssa, but it's expensive and not covered by insurance.
"She was having seizure activity daily, 2-4 seizures a night. In the last ten days, she has not had a single seizure at night since this therapy has started so it's been a tremendous blessing already," said Alyssa's father Kennith Argo.
"She needs hope right now and I think by knowing all this is going on you can tell in her right now that she's experiencing hope that people care about her," says family friend Kristen Cunningham.
