OHIO CO,. KY (WFIE) -

A section of the Western Kentucky Parkway in Ohio County is back open after a semi wreck.

It happened overnight just before 12:30 Friday morning.

The Sheriff's Office says it happened at the 65 mile marker in the westbound lanes on a bridge over the Green River.

They say that truck was carrying sheets of plywood.

Deputies say the driver of the truck, Ishmael Antonio Molina ran off the roadway into the median, hit a guard rail then struck the bridge abutment spilling his load. The truck ended up on the bridge blocking both westbound lanes.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Western Kentucky Parkway were closed at one point while crews worked the scene.

The westbound lanes were closed until around 11 a.m.

Officials say drivers should continue to use caution in this area. Over the next several days they say a KYTC guardrail contractor will have lane restrictions in this area to rebuild an extended section of guardrail that was damaged by this crash.

KYTC says some non-structural concrete repairs and handrail replacement work will be scheduled at a later date.
