Convicted killer denied early release

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Convicted killer Mark Jervis will not be getting out of jail early.

He was denied early release during a hearing on Thursday.

Jervis was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the 1993 murder of Terri Boyer.

In October 2013, Jervis petitioned the court for post-conviction relief.

He claimed that he received an unfair trial.

Jervis is expected to be released from jail in 2023.  He'll be 78 years old.

He can appeal the judge's decision.
