JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A man who was supposed to be caring for people with special needs is behind bars for allegedly doing just the opposite.
Terry Gilpin, 24, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, he was caring for a client with Cerebral Palsy at a Rescare home care facility in Jeffersonville. Authorities say Gilpin broke that person's nose and caused lacerations, and tissue damage.
"The care facility they are in need of a lot of care and compassion and attentiveness," said Jeremy Mull, Clark County chief deputy prosecutor. "Unfortunately, sometimes the people who are hired to oversee aren't treated with the care and respect they deserve."
Gilpin is facing two counts of battery and is being held without bond at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville.
In another incident Gilpin is accused of was causing injury to the ear of his victim.
