CENTRAL CITY, KY (WFIE) -

A Sunday night fire in Muhlenberg County destroyed one home, but luckily, everyone got out safely.

The Central City home in the 500 block of Park Street sustained heavy water, fire, and smoke damage. Officials say when they arrived the back of the home was fully involved.

A babysitter was in the home at the time and was able to get all the children out of the home. No one was injured.

The state fire marshal's office was on scene Monday to survey the damage and look for a cause.

"Opened the door and it was full of smoke and fire. She closed the door back luckily and got the children out. Her children were actually there also and got out of the residence," said Central City Fire Chief Ricky King.

Officials are still investigating, but they believe the fire was accidental and started in a carport behind the home.
