One man was taken to the hospital after an accident Saturday afternoon.
It happened on the Pennyrile Parkway near Exit 40 just before 3:30 p.m. Deputies say something dropped out of the man's truck and he stopped abruptly, causing three vehicles behind him to collide.
Authorities say the man's truck ended up teetering on the guardrail. We're told others who saw the accident helped hold onto the truck to keep it from going over.
The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries, but none of them were life-threatening. No one else was hurt.
Traffic was backed-up in the northbound lanes and was moving very slowly while crews worked to clear the accident.
Authorities also say a woman went into labor while she was stuck in traffic, but crews got her through to the hospital.
