$200,000 incentive recommended to lure jobs to Daviess Co., KY

DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) -

The Daviess County Economic Development Advisory Board makes a recommendation to give TerrePure of Kentucky a $200,000 incentive in order to attract them and their business to the county.

In exchange for the incentive, TerrePure would bring up to 50 jobs and invest $20 million in a construction project.

No word on whether renovations would be made to an existing building or if something new would be built in the county.

TerrePure has not made a decision yet on whether they will locate in Daviess County but they have been looking at sites.

In February, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported that TerrePURE Kentucky Distillers Inc. is considering buying the historic Charles Medley distillery in Owensboro and renovating the facility.

TerrePure is owned by Terressentia Corp. of Charleston, SC, which makes bulk spirits.  The company does not have any brands but creates spirits for retails chains.

The $200,000 incentive recommendation will be considered by the Daviess County Fiscal Court at a future date.
