Compton in court

The Evansville man accused of starting a fire that claimed three lives is due in court today. Christopher Compton is facing three counts of murder and 13 counts of arson. He's also accused of being an habitual offender.  Police say Compton admitted he set the blaze on West Franklin Street that killed three people, including a child.

Body recovered

We expect to learn more today about a body of a woman found inside an SUV that was pulled from the Ohio River. Hardin County Coroner Jessica Cullum says sonar equipment found the vehicle Thursday afternoon. Authorities have not confirmed whether the body is that of 39 year old Chrisandra Williams missing since last December.

Windy and warmer

High pressure to our south will bring sunshine and further warm temperatures to near 70-degrees, but winds will gust from 25 to 35 miles an hour this afternoon.  A cold front will sweep in scattered rain late on Saturday and early Sunday. Byron has the 14 First Alert forecast.

"Where Soldiers Come From"

The organization, Veterans for Peace is hoping for a nice turnout at University of Evansville tomorrow night to learn more about what actually happens when soldiers come back from war. They'll be screening the universally acclaimed documentary, "Where Soldiers Come From."  Deanna Allbrittin will be live on the UE campus with the details.

NCAA Tourney

We'll also talk hoops this morning from Thursday's NCAA Tournament openers to some of the games coming up later today.

So enjoy the first weekend of spring, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
