Crimestoppers partnership possible for Hopkins Co. school district

Posted: Updated:

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - The Hopkins County school district is looking into a partnership with Hopkins County Crimestoppers and Madisonville Police to combat school bullying.

The school district already has a web site where students can anonymously report acts of violence or bullying called STOP.

Madisonville Police already have a cell phone program where students can text tips to school resource officers, but they do not have an on-line tip program.

"The stop program actually gives the students the opportunity to anonymously report bullying, acts of violence, even risky behavior," said Madisonville Police Lt. Billy Poe.

The Hopkins County school district is considering this possible partnership.
